What is the 3on6™?
The 3on6™ is a permanent smile restoration treatment. It uses 6 implants to secure 3 bridges on a full upper or lower arch in the mouth. You never have to remove it and it can be cleaned at home with brushing and flossing. It feels and functions like natural teeth so you can bite an apple or chew a steak with it.
Do you accept insurance for the 3on6™ ?
Yes, we bill out of network. As long as you have implant coverage, we will likely be able to max out your insurance when it comes to getting implants and the 3on6™.
What if i still have some healthy teeth?
The 3on6™ is generally used for people replacing all of their teeth, but we can also do partial mouth resotration if there are existing good teeth. Dr. Emett will make that determination during your consultation.
What if I already have some implants?
We can often sue existing implants that you have, but this will have to be determined by Dr. Emett.
Will i get my teeth in 1 day?
Yes, during your procedure we perfrom extractions, place implants and attatch your first set of temporary bridges. You smile on your way out.
What is the difference between the All-on-X and the 3 on 6™?
Some drawbacks to the All-on-X is that it can trap food and should be removed periodically for cleanings and to prevent infection. It is also a single unit restoration which reduces implant stimulation and increases the chances of bone and tissue loss.
The 3 on 6™ uses three segmented bridges that are attached using six implants in an arch. Only the teeth are replaced so there are no fake acrylic gums, making it feel similar to having your natural teeth in your mouth again.
Bone doesn’t have to be removed and the six implants on segmented bridges increases implant stimulation to protect against bone loss. In addition, the 3 on 6™ does not need to be removed for cleanings or maintenance.
Why shouldn't I just go with a denture?
Since dentures don’t provide any bone support, the bone in your jaw slowly deteriorates when you wear a denture. This changes the shape of your mouth, making it so that you’ll need to use more glue and eventually replace your dentures every few years. Dentures should be the last option for someone considering smile restoration.
How do I maintain a 3 on 6™ smile?
Patients should schedule regular dental cleanings every 6 months. The cleanings are standard and nothing has to be removed. We also recommend you avoid smoking and drugs as these things can affect your bone density and implant longevity. A healthy diet and regular exercise will contribute to your dental and overall health.
